Khmer and Thai People Reconciliation Project
The Buddhists and Khmer Society Network (BKSN) in collaboration with the Working Group for Peace (WGP) and People Empowerment Foundation (PEF) in collaboration with the Indo-China Studies Center are on the process of implementing a reconciliation joint project called Khmer and Thai People Reconciliation Project with an aim to strengthen relationship and trust between Cambodian and Thai people, especially those who are living a long the border. At Cambodian side, the project is received financial contributions from ICCO, AFSC and individual people and organizations who are the members of the BKSN. This movement has been established due to the increasing level of political and military confrontation between the two countries, especially since the border conflict of the Preah Vihear Temple started. In addition, spiritual conflict between the people have been rooted deeply, and now we have realized that it is the time that we need to cure it. As people we don’t want to be manipulated by any un-helpful politics.
Our wish is, though there is political conflict, but people still come to one another and practicing social and economical activities as usual. In addition, we encourage and expect a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Please visit our proposal for the detail.
